Join Our team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology in Richmond, VA

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hematology Oncology Physician to provide exceptional patient care on a locum basis at a renowned cancer institute. This vital role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic inpatient and outpatient setting, contribute to groundbreaking research, and support a patient population in need. Required Skills:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Valid medical license in Virginia or eligible for license reciprocity
  • Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
  • Proven experience in inpatient and outpatient oncology care
  • Strong knowledge of EPIC EMR system
  • Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to oversee nurse practitioners and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Willing and interested in enrolling patients in clinical research studies
  • Availability for call coverage as needed
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience in research enrollment and clinical trials
  • Prior experience working in hospital-based oncology practices
  • Familiarity with hospital protocols and multidisciplinary care coordination
  • Bilingual abilities to serve a diverse patient population
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-residency clinical experience in hematology and oncology
  • Prior locum or temp-to-perm experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to provide inpatient and outpatient coverage during specified dates
  • Compliance with all institutional policies, safety standards, and continuing education requirements
  • Ability to travel to specified coverage periods as needed
