Join Our Team as a Locum Physician specializing in Hematology Oncology in Richmond, VA Are you a dedicated Hematology Oncology physician seeking flexible, impactful work opportunities? We are currently recruiting a highly skilled Locum Physician to provide exceptional care at the Bon Secours Cancer Institute ys Hospital. This pivotal role offers a unique chance to contribute to patient care, advance research, and maintain clinical excellence in a vibrant healthcare environment.
In this role, you will oversee inpatient and outpatient oncology services, including supervising a Nurse Practitioner, participating in research studies, and providing call coverage. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic setting, handling approximately 12-15 patients daily, predominantly in an inpatient capacity, with some outpatient responsibilities during physician vacation periods.
Required Skills:
Valid medical license to practice in Virginia Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology Proven clinical expertise in adult oncology and hematology Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to oversee NP activities and participate in research enrollment Familiarity with EPIC EMR system Nice to Have
Skills:
Previous experience in hospital-based oncology care Research experience or participation in clinical trials Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Hematology Oncology Prior locum or inpatient hospital coverage experience is advantageous Other Requirements:
Availability for coverage in April, Monday through Friday, with potential call duties Willingness to work in inpatient and outpatient settings as needed Must comply with all regulatory and licensure requirements Travel and licensure reimbursement provided where applicable This valuable opportunity offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $19,500.00, paid weekly via direct deposit, along with comprehensive benefits such as medical coverage, licensure and travel reimbursements, and a supportive dedicated team committed to your success.
