This role offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver quality care within a supportive environment while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation. In this vital role, you will cover both office and hospital settings, including on-call duties, supporting the community through comprehensive obstetric and gynecological services. You will work with a proficient team of physicians, midwives, and advanced practice providers, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and EMR systems to deliver exceptional patient care.
The position is ideal for physicians seeking a short-term assignment with meaningful clinical impact. Required Skills MD or DO degree with valid medical licensure to practice in Virginia Proven experience in obstetrics and gynecology practice, with competency in routine obstetric procedures, fetal monitoring, ultrasounds, and gynecological surgeries Strong clinical skills in managing low to moderate risk pregnancies and gynecological interventions Ability to interpret FHR, perform ultrasounds, and handle routine deliveries, including VBACs and C-sections Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse clinical environment Nice to Have Skills
Experience with Level IIID NICU protocols and ultrasonography interpretation Previous experience as a locum or covering hospital-based OB/GYN services Bilingual capabilities or additional language skills for enhanced patient communication Preferred
Education and Experience Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution At least 2 years of OB/GYN practice experience post-residency Prior hospital and office-based obstetrics experience, with proficiency in EMR systems such as EPIC Other Requirements Valid Virginia medical license and DEA registration Certification in BLS and NRP Willingness to work scheduled office hours, on-call shifts, and perform procedures as required Credentialing process estimated to take approximately 120 days after submission
