About the Position
Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology Richmond, VA
Unlock an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of Hematology and Oncology by joining our esteemed team in Richmond, VA. As a vital part of the Bon Secours Cancer Institute ys Hospital, you will provide essential care to adult patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing your expertise to a dynamic healthcare environment.
This role offers the flexibility of a locum position with the chance to collaborate with a dedicated team committed to advancing patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology
Valid medical license to practice in Virginia
Proven experience in inpatient and outpatient oncology care
Ability to oversee and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners
Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills, proficient in EPIC EMR
Nice to Have
Skills:
Experience enrolling patients in clinical research studies
Familiarity with hospital-based and outpatient oncology procedures
Prior experience in a hospital setting in Virginia
Preferred
Education and Experience:
Medical degree from an accredited institution
At least 2 years of clinical experience in Hematology and Oncology
Prior locum or temporary physician roles preferred
Other Requirements:
Willingness to cover hospital call responsibilities
Availability for coverage starting March 6, 2026, with weekly Monday through Friday schedule in April
Ability to manage a patient load of approximately 12-15 patients daily
Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and adhering to all relevant medical standards and protocols
