The Lead Testing Specialist operates within standard business hours, Monday through Friday; hours ensure consistent coverage for testing operations, student support, and coordination with Admissions, Advising, and Academic departments. Limited schedule flexibility may be required during peak testing or enrollment periods to meet operational needs.

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance.

The Lead Testing Specialist is responsible for ensuring secure, equitable, and consistent test delivery in alignment with College, state, and national testing guidelines.

This role provides advanced daily operational support for testing services, including troubleshooting technical issues, coordinating testing activities, and maintaining accurate testing data. The position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and student-centered testing operations across campus locations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee daily testing and placement operations across multiple testing formats and locations
  • Serve as the first point of contact for test-related troubleshooting and operational escalations
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, ADA, and national testing agency requirements
  • Maintain testing integrity, security protocols, and accurate student testing records
  • Support faculty and departments with accommodated testing, certification exams, and instructor-based assessments
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance testing efficiency and the student experience.
Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced or high-volume environment
  • Experience working in a higher education, testing center, or assessment-related setting
  • Familiarity with testing platforms such as Respondus, TEAS, ACCUPLACER, or similar systems
Additional Considerations



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating testing operations across multiple locations
  • Experience supporting accommodated or compliance-driven testing environments
Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel

Travel between campuses, if needed.
