Child Care Teacher – Reggio Emilia Approach

We are seeking dedicated and creative Child Care Teachers to join our team in Richmond. Utilizing the Reggio Emilia approach
, you will design adaptive lesson plans and foster a safe, engaging environment for children ranging from six weeks to six years old.
As a vital member of our teaching team, you will focus on supporting children's self‑esteem and promoting holistic development, ensuring that learning is an exploratory process that allows every child to reach their full potential.
Core Responsibilities- Curriculum & Instruction:
Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that align with Reggio Emilia concepts for both indoor and outdoor classrooms. - Child Development:
Foster cognitive, social, and motor development through positive interactions and structured play. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of daily progress and activities; provide regular, insightful reports to parents. - Classroom Management:
Ensure a clean, organized, and hazard‑free environment. Supervise teacher aides and volunteers to maintain high standards of care. - Safety & Compliance:
Adhere strictly to licensing and accrediting body standards, including rigorous infection control and playground supervision protocols. - Collaboration:
Actively participate in staff meetings and continuing education. Maintain professional, supportive relationships with colleagues and leadership.
- Required:
2-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Psychology, or a related field OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 40 hours of relevant coursework. - Preferred:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
- Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of formal experience working with children (ages 6 weeks to 6 years). - Certifications:
Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate is highly preferred. - Technical
Skills:
Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia philosophy; ability to document observations legibly and professionally.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑energy, and often noisy environment.
- Physical stamina for frequent bending, climbing, and active engagement with children.
- Strong reasoning, problem‑solving, and communication skills to manage intense customer (parent) interactions and shifting priorities.

March 2, 2026 - Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7.5‑hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. - Compensation: $38,000 – $48,000 per year (Commensurate with experience).
