Overview

Working Title:

Adjunct Faculty - Math. The position is part time, adjunct/continuing education faculty, with pay per credit hour commensurate with education and relevant teaching experience. This position is located to be filled on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of day, evening and weekend classes.
  • Teach college level courses, which may include distance learning on and off campus courses during the day, evening and weekends.
  • May be located on the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, and Luray-Page County Center as needed.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned and may assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • KSA:
    Masters in the field or Masters with 18 graduate credits in the field
    .
  • The ability to use instructional technology is required.
  • Additional Considerations:
    • Occupational experience in the field.
    • Experience with Canvas or other online course management tools.
    • College level teaching experience; online experience is a plus.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • The ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Compensation and Benefits

Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty:
The rate per credit hour will commensurate with education and relevant teaching experience. The position is part time and as such is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.

Telework

According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking
, effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre-pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. Eligible positions are determined by the type of work and job requirements of the position, as defined by heads of agencies.
