Adjunct Faculty – Professional Programs
OverviewLaurel Ridge Community College seeks part‑time adjunct faculty who can teach on campus, online, or hybrid for day, evening, and weekend classes across a broad range of Professional Programs. Positions are appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis with teaching loads of up to 12 credit hours in Fall and Spring and up to 8 credit hours in Summer.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate level college courses in the designated professional program area.
- Deliver instruction through a combination of on‑campus, online, or hybrid formats.
- Prepare and maintain course materials, assignments, and grades in accordance with institutional standards.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and program reviews as required.
- Master’s degree (or higher) in the discipline or related field; a Bachelor’s degree combined with a relevant certification, work experience, and/or 18 graduate semester hours may be considered for certain courses.
- Demonstrated history of effective teaching or related educational experience.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and online learning platforms.
- Ability to work at any of the college’s sites, centers, or campuses and handle day, evening, and weekend schedules.
- Successful completion of the college’s pre‑employment security screening.
Adjudicated per credit hour; rate commensurate with education and teaching experience. As a part‑time position, no health or leave benefits are available, though educational benefits may be provided through the college’s professional development and educational assistance policies.
