Job Description & How to Apply Below

Rappahannock Community College (RCC), founded in 1970, provides high‑quality educational and training opportunities throughout a 12‑county service region on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. RCC delivers accessible and affordable educational opportunities, including for‑credit transfer and career‑technical programs, robust distance‑education coursework, quality dual‑enrollment courses, and award‑winning workforce training and credentialing programs. RCC’s annualized enrollment of 3,700 credit students in 2024‑2025 and almost 800 workforce and community‑development students is supported by nearly 140 full‑time and over 200 part‑time/adjunct employees across two main campuses and five satellite sites.

The College is looking for a Dean of Institutional Excellence to support essential planning functions with data, evaluation, and reports that drive critical decision‑making. Reporting directly to the President, this leadership role will serve as the SACSCOC liaison, assisting the college in meeting accreditation requirements and implementing improvement initiatives.

The position is full‑time, mainly remote, and based within the College’s service area. The anticipated salary range for this position is $78,685 to $120,608, commensurate with education and experience, and the appointment will begin on April 10, 2026.

This critical role will work with college committees and other faculty and staff to conduct research, ensure appropriate data and statistical information are available to support institutional goals, and improve student outcomes. Responsibilities include data exploration, analysis, interviews, surveys, web and institutional research, data programming, and Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and SCHEV reporting. The incumbent will also support the development and implementation of instruments to assess student outcomes and co‑lead the College’s strategic plan with the President.
