VCUarts Adjunct Instructor - Department of Kinetic Imaging, Animation

Position Details

The Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts (VCUarts) Department of Kinetic Imaging ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) is seeking applicants for adjunct teaching positions in animation. We are seeking animators with a fine arts, non‑mainstream approach. Interested parties will be considered for teaching classes in the fall 2026 semester in the following areas of study offered by the Department of Kinetic Imaging – 2D and 3D animation.

Adjunct faculty are expected to be enthusiastic ambassadors for the Department of Kinetic Imaging and have a desire to work with a student population in a collaborative and learning‑centered community of other adjunct instructors, students, and faculty.

• Terminal degree in a related field, or training and professional experience that equates to a terminal degree.
• Appropriate teaching experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
