Spotsylvania – 177. Salary: commensurate with rank and credentials.

Employment:
Part‑time, FLSA Exempt, Pay Band UG. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs. Work schedule will vary between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. depending on availability and scheduling needs. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.

Duties and Tasks
  • Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
  • Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
  • Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
  • Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
Essential Functions

As part of the primary responsibility, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Psychology.
  • Ability to effectively teach in classrooms and online.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use instructional technology.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
Additional Considerations
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Work experience in the field.
  • Experience with online teaching.
  • Substantial, proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution.
