OverviewGermanna Community College is a two‑year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. As a comprehensive community college, Germanna provides quality, accessible, and affordable educational opportunities for the residents of the City of Fredericksburg and the surrounding counties.
Adjunct faculty members plan and teach courses in the designated discipline. We are looking for a faculty member to teach Photography in‑person and/or online. Adjunct faculty may teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters and up to 8 credit hours during summer session. The contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.
Key Responsibilities- Teach specific Photography classes.
- Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
- Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
- Maintain current competence in the discipline.
Provide quality instruction, meet assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports routinely, teach the prescribed courses of study, and adhere to the College’s statement on professional ethics.
Required Qualifications & KSA’s- Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Photography.
- Ability to effectively teach in classrooms and online.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to use instructional technology.
- Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.
- Prior teaching experience.
- Work experience in the field.
- Experience with online teaching.
- Proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution.
May be required to travel between different college locations.
