Position Summary
Workforce Solutions Hydroponics Instructor (Part‑Time) – Adjunct Faculty. FLSA Exempt, Pay Band: UG, Position Number: 286A9999. Agency:
Virginia Western Community College.
Work Location:
Roanoke, VA. Hiring Range: commensurate based on qualifications. Telework options: subject to change based on business needs.
Work Schedule:
day, evening, and online.
- Teach Hydroponics fundamentals to students in two levels of classes.
- Demonstrate and maintain hydroponics equipment and control systems.
- Develop lesson plans, syllabi, exams, and assessment strategies.
- Provide instruction to students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Assist in emergency response if required by the agency or state government.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- 3–5 years of occupational experience in Hydroponics.
- Familiarity with multiple Hydroponic Systems and their maintenance.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to write syllabi and exams and develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Hydroponic systems and plant care.
