Adjunct Foundations of Drawing Faculty (Part‑Time) – Drawing Adjunct Faculty Position, Code FLSA Exempt Pay Band UG, Position Number 276A0

• Introduce and demonstrate drawing concepts such as line, proportion, space, perspective, value, and composition.
• Apply drawing concepts to subject matter including still life, landscape, and the figure.
• Instruct students in the use of various media, such as pencil, charcoal, and ink wash.
• Organize field trips and gallery assignments appropriate to the curriculum.
• Deliver instruction in a hybrid format, ensuring high‑quality course materials align with college standards.
• Maintain engagement through Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for the online portion of the course.
• Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments to support academic success.

• Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art.
• Clear demonstration of drawing skill adequate to teach this course.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to write syllabi and examinations.
• Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
• Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success.

• Teaching experience at the college level, including face‑to‑face and online/hybrid modalities.
• Competency in instructional technologies such as SMART Boards, Zoom, and Canvas LMS.
• Experience working with community college students.
• Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned or assist the agency or state government during emergencies.

Fall 2026 Semester:
August 17 – December 15, 2026. Hybrid format (in‑person instruction on campus and online components).

  Tuesdays, 2:30 PM – 4:50 PM.
• John H. Daniel Campus – Keysville, VA:
  Mondays, 1:00 PM – 3:25 PM.
