We are seeking adjunct instructors to support a variety of workforce training and credentialing programs across the region. The position is responsible for providing effective didactic and skills instruction to engage an adult learner audience; maintaining a positive and safe learning environment; ensuring adherence to policies and procedures; and serving as a role model and advocate for student success.
Responsibilities- Hold review, remediation and office hour sessions for students.
- Maintain participation and performance records.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.
- Provide timely and appropriate responses to student, staff and partner inquiries.
- Report incidents and maintain compliance with safety and emergency protocols.
- Participate in professional development and partner onboarding requirements.
- Maintain professional competence, certifications/licensure.
- Assist in student recruitment activities.
- Operate a state vehicle and travel to college campuses or site locations as assigned.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned and to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's /Required Qualifications
- Certification as a clinical medical assistant (NHA), medical assistant (AAMA).
- At least two years of direct patient care as a medical assistant.
- Combination of education and industry credentials to demonstrate content expertise.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant clinical healthcare field.
- Other certification or licensure as a healthcare professional (e.g., RN).
- Experience teaching adult learners and/or at a community college.
- Experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses.
- Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
- Recent experience preparing adult learners for success on credentialing exams.
- Current AHA-BLS CPR certification.
This is an on-campus position (not remote).
