Job Overview
This position is an Adjunct Instructor – CCWA for EducateVA, responsible for developing high‑quality curriculum materials and delivering content‑specific instruction to meet the licensure requirements set by the Virginia Department of Education. Candidates must hold a valid Virginia teaching license and have experience as a Special Education teacher, coordinator, or administrator.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with program administrators to develop customized materials, including presentations, assessments, and other related content.
- Lead instructional sessions for groups, both in‑person and virtually, ensuring that learning objectives are met.
- Assess participant work based on program guidelines and provide individualized feedback on a routine basis.
- Maintain strong relationships with program participants, understand their evolving needs, and provide expert advice on key concepts and practices.
- Provide detailed feedback to program participants and communicate areas for improvement to program administrators.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices to ensure the delivery of relevant and current content.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Knowledge of Virginia Department of Education licensure requirements, instructional standards, and adult learning principles.
- Skill in designing and delivering high‑quality, content‑specific curriculum in in‑person and virtual learning environments.
- Skill in assessing participant performance and providing timely, individualized, and constructive feedback.
- Ability to engage diverse learners, adapt instruction to participant needs, and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Ability to collaborate with program administrators, document participant progress, and remain current with educational best practices.
- Current experience in the K‑12 setting is required.
- Valid Virginia teaching license in Special Education.
