Overview:

Apex Systems is seeking a Training Developer/Instructor with experience and knowledge of Articulate Storyline 360. Additional knowledge of People Soft Human Capital Management (HCM) and/or People Soft Financials would be ideal, but not necessary. This individual must have a passion for learning and development and be well-versed in adult learning principles, training development for both Instructor Led Training (ILT) and Web Based Training (WBT), and demonstrate excellent facilitation skills in both in-person and virtual environments.

The candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and skills in developing Web-Based Training courses, preferably using Articulate Storyline 360, and be able to provide work samples for review. The candidate must be comfortable developing course materials for large-scale systems integration initiatives. Nominees must be flexible, adaptable, collaborative, and open-minded to meet changing program needs and requirements.

Candidates local to the Richmond, VA area are strongly preferred, but all candidates must have the ability and willingness to travel to the Richmond, VA area. Resource must be on-site at least 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Required Technology

Experience:

  • Oracle's People Soft Financials and/or Human Capital Management system
  • Articulate Storyline 360 Authoring Software or transferable skillsets with comparable authoring tools (Articulate Storyline 3, Adobe Captivate)
  • Camtasia (video recording and editing)
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a virtual environment as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and define training needs
  • Training development experience (People Soft HCM and FIN modules)
  • Deliver engaging training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques for in-person and virtual training
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory principles
  • Ability to identify and establish ongoing training needs, make recommendations, and provide updates to training materials
  • Experience with creating WBT materials using Articulate Storyline products or Adobe Captivate
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with system implementations and/or upgrades
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop/revise training courses and materials to include PPT Decks, Job Aids, Student Exercise Guides, Storyline 360 WBT courses, and tutorial videos using Camtasia
  • Facilitate training courses for end users, both in-person and virtual training
  • Anticipate and adapt to meet learner needs within the classroom setting
  • Identify, develop, and test training data in the training database
  • Develop tutorial videos using Camtasia
  • Partner with application subject matter experts (SME) to compile, edit, and review documents to ensure validity and accuracy of training materials and documentation
  • Create training communications as needed (job aids, notification of system changes, etc.)
  • Complete required tracking of training course metric documentation
