The Richmond Waldorf School is seeking a Development Coordinator to support the school through fundraising, grants, communication, alum relations, and school events. This position works closely with members of the Development Committee and reports directly to the Executive Director.
Fundraising- Strategically plans and executes a fundraising plan for the fiscal year alongside the Development Committee.
- Manages the creation and disbursement of the Annual Report each September.
- Creates and distributes mailed and emailed fundraising campaign outreach.
- Gathers and tracks progress toward fundraising goals.
- Advertises fundraising progress to the school community, including goals and updates, through written communications, social media posts, and personal donor communication.
- Tracks amounts raised, participation, and class rewards earned, providing periodic updates.
- Sends thank you notes to donors and prepares tax‑deduction receipts.
- Follows up on pledges not received throughout the spring.
- Works closely with the Executive Director on a capital campaign.
- Maintains reporting requirements for all awarded grants.
- Applies for grants that support the school’s long‑range plans.
- Coordinates and executes the community‑wide communications strategy for the fiscal year, including weekly Messenger updates, social media, event promotion, and annual reports.
- Co‑creates content with the Director of Enrollment and Development for social media accounts.
- Builds upon current alum relationship efforts.
- Coordinates new initiatives in consultation with the High School Transition Coordinator and the Executive Director.
- Co‑coordinates project management of school events with the Director of Enrollment and Development, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
- Supports planning and execution of a year‑long Community Enrichment Series of 3-4 evening sessions with faculty or guest speakers.
- Acts as liaison with the Parents Association, guiding event planning, volunteerism, and alignment with the community calendar.
- Submits internal and external reports in a timely manner.
- Partners with outside contractors and organizations for website development and content creation.
- Manages ordering and inventory of all school merchandise for the store.
- Maintains positive relationships with parents and responds to all parental concerns.
- Maintains professional relationships with colleagues and addresses collegial concerns.
- Engages in ongoing professional and personal growth.
- Fulfills other duties as assigned relative to job responsibilities.

Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, non‑profit studies, education, social sciences, or a related field.

Understanding of or willingness to learn about Waldorf education. - Experience working in a collaborative environment.

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and move items up to 25 pounds. Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Details- Full‑time, 40 hours per week, exempt position.
- Salary range: $43,000 to $49,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- 12 month school year beginning on or around July 1, 2026.
