School of BTT Plumbing; Evening & Saturday Adjunct Faculty; Part-Time

Position Summary
:
The School of Business, Technology, and Trades (BTT) offers a part‑time Adjunct Faculty role to teach college‑level plumbing courses on Friday evenings and Saturday days. The position is appointed on a course‑by‑course, semester basis and requires the responsibilities outlined below.

• Teach Principles of Plumbing Trade I, Principles of Plumbing Trade II, and Plumbing Code & Certification Preparation.
• Develop syllabi, exams, and learning strategies that meet community‑college standards.
• Maintain currency in plumbing discipline and stay current with trends in community‑college education.
• Engage students of diverse backgrounds and varying abilities in a supportive learning environment.
• Participate in departmental communication and meetings related to curriculum and assessment.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of occupational experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to write syllabi, exams, and develop curriculum and assessments.
• Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
• Master plumber license preferred.
• Operation of a state vehicle (if required).

Location & Schedule
:
Roanoke, VA. Friday evenings and Saturday days.
