Adjunct Computer Science Instructor

Overview

New River Community College (NRCC) is a comprehensive community college located in the New River Valley of Virginia. The Adjunct Computer Science Instructor position offers teaching of both online and in‑person courses in the Computer Science department.

• Teach online or in‑person Computer Science (CSC) courses, including course preparation, student support, and grading.

Available Courses:

• CSC 221 – Introduction to Problem Solving and Programming (Python)
• CSC 222 – Object Oriented Programming (Java)
• CSC 223 – Data Structures and Analysis of Algorithms (Java)
• CSC 208 – Introduction to Discrete Structures

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Master’s degree in computer science or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in computer science.
• Effective communication in teaching and learning situations.

• Teaching experience in a higher education environment.
• Experience teaching online courses.
