  • Fall 2026 Semester (August 17 – December 15, 2026);
    Hybrid (in‑person and online).
  • John H. Daniel Campus – Keysville, VA:
    • Monday, 11:10 AM – 12:35 PM.
    • Thursday, 1:00 PM – 2:25 PM.
  • Christanna Campus – Alberta, VA:
    • Monday, 11:10 AM – 12:35 PM.
    • Thursday, 1:00 PM – 2:25 PM.
Course Content &

Specific Duties
  • Describe various architectural styles, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and painting techniques.
  • Highlight major artists and key contributions from both global and western cultures.
  • Cover course content effectively using a chronological and/or thematic approach.
  • Deliver instruction in a hybrid format, ensuring high‑quality course materials align with college standards.
  • Maintain engagement through the college’s Learning Management System (LMS) for the online portion of the course.
  • Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic success.
Special Assignments
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Art or Art History from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal communication skills; ability to write syllabi and exams.
  • Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
  • Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of the community college and student success.
Additional Considerations
  • Teaching experience at the college level, specifically with face‑to‑face and online/hybrid modalities.
  • Competency using instructional technologies such as SMART boards, Zoom and Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Experience working with community college students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student engagement and academic success.
