Adjunct Physics Lab Instructor Rolling Pool Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands‑on physics laboratory sessions for undergraduate students.
• Guide students through experimental procedures and data analysis techniques.
• Ensure laboratory safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Assist students with equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate student performance through lab reports and practical assessments.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate with technical staff for repairs.
• Provide clear explanations of physics concepts and their practical applications.
• Support student learning through individual and small group instruction.
• Document and report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.

• Master's degree in Physics or a closely related field.
• Previous teaching or instructional experience in physics laboratories.
• Strong knowledge of undergraduate physics principles and laboratory techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings.

• Doctoral degree in Physics or related field.
• Experience with modern physics laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Background in curriculum development or educational assessment.
• Familiarity with learning management systems.
• Previous experience working with students at various skill levels.
