Position Overview
Adjunct faculty – communications (part‑time, day, evening, weekend) at Laurel Ridge Community College, Middletown Campus, Virginia. The role includes teaching college‑level courses (on site, distance, or hybrid) on Monday and Wednesday daytime classes. Applicants must reside in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland or District of Columbia.
Responsibilities- Teach college‑level communications courses as assigned.
- Develop and deliver course content in person, online or hybrid.
- Use instructional technology and learning management systems.
- Provide timely feedback and assessment to students.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to support learning.
- Master’s degree in Communication or related field (minimum 18 credits).
- Experience with instructional technology required.
- Experience with Canvas or another online course management tool.
- College‑level teaching experience preferred; online experience a plus.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Adjunct/Continuing Education Faculty: rate per credit hour commensurate with education and experience. As a part‑time position, the role is not eligible for health or leave benefits but may offer educational benefits through professional development and educational assistance policies.
