Culinary Arts Adjunct Role
Part‑time academic position at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, VA.
Pay: $793 – $1,375 per credit hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Work Schedule: Varies with course assignments; may include day, evening, or weekend work.
Telework Options: Subject to change based on business needs.
Functional Responsibilities- Create a learning environment that facilitates acquisition of knowledge and skills in culinary arts.
- Align course activities with student learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies and appropriate technology.
- Deliver instruction in support of learning outcomes, administer timely assessments, and analyze evaluation data to improve instruction.
- Perform work during day, evening, and/or weekend as required by courses.
- Hold at least one office hour per week for each course assigned.
May be required to perform additional duties as assigned and assist with emergency declarations.
KSA's /Required Qualifications
- Effective electronic communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in culinary arts with demonstrated teaching competency.
- At least two years of related occupational experience.
- College‑level teaching experience.
- Knowledge of Canvas or other learning management systems.
- Experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
- Proficient in technology necessary for an instructional environment.
Not a supervisory role; no required travel; no state vehicle operation.
