Career and Technical Instructor – Pharmacy Tech (Part‑time)

ResponsibilitiesPrepares student semester reports, maintains student daily records, and monitors and records student progress using formal and informal methods. Provides academic advising to students, assists the Instructional Specialist and participates in department trainings, meetings and graduation. Provides students with employment counseling and job placement assistance. Instructs students on how to apply their knowledge to real‑life situations. Motivates students in part by responding to their individual learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
Participates in the orientation, registration and assessment process. Completes annual professional development requirements established by the Richmond Adult Technical Center. Participates in required meetings and workshops.
Required pharmacy technician certification or license and skills. Five years of experience in the field preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, productive teaching techniques for adults, with creative, innovative and non‑traditional strategies for students from diverse backgrounds. Ability to maintain an evening/night schedule. Sensitive to student population, flexible, able to follow policies and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational and planning abilities.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Internet and intranet access.
Perform professional work providing teaching and/or training services to students in a specialized subject. Requirements include frequent standing, sitting, walking, light lifting up to 10 pounds and effective verbal and written communication skills, hearing to perceive information at a normal spoken word level and visual acuity for preparing and analyzing written or computer data.
