Hiring Range: $793 – $1,375 per credit hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Work Schedule:
Varies, Part Time up to 29 hrs per week.

Tidewater Community College serves South Hampton Roads with four campuses and multiple centers, enrolling nearly 25,000 students. The adjunct faculty member will teach courses in Electrical Technology, engaging students through classroom, remote via Zoom, or online environments.
Functional Responsibilities- Create a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in Electrical Technology.
- Align course activities with learning outcomes, employ active learning strategies, and provide students with prompt and meaningful feedback.
- Deliver instruction that supports stated learning outcomes, adhere to college policies and procedures, conduct timely assessments, and analyze evaluation data to improve instruction.
- Work during day, evening, and/or weekend as required.
- Hold at least one office hour per week for each course assigned.
- Assist the agency or state government during emergency declarations by the Governor.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Technology or related field, or an Associate Degree in Electrical Technology.
- Two years of related professional experience.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Knowledge of Canvas or other learning management systems.
- Experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success.
- Strong technology skills to work productively in an organization that utilizes significant instructional technology resources.
