Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in classrooms, laboratories, and online environments to students with diverse academic backgrounds and experiences.
Faculty must work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, and community members, demonstrating a commitment to diversity as a learning outcome by being culturally respectful, professionally competent, and civically responsible.
Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May assist the agency or state government during an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in the specific discipline
- Associates Degree or equivalent for Career and Technical Education courses
- Official transcripts required prior to final offer
- Demonstrated ability to use relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication
- Commitment to student engagement in the online teaching environment, including consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms
- Technology capability (e.g., wifi, computers) to teach remotely
- Ability to teach in a variety of modalities, including virtual instruction
- Demonstrated competency and commitment to continuous professional development
- Teaching experience
- Work experience in the field
- Experience with online teaching
- Substantial, proven experience with innovative teaching and developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments at a regionally accredited institution
No state vehicle operation. No supervision of employees. No required travel; however, employees may be expected to travel to all campus locations as needed.
