Adjunct Faculty – Professional Programs
Laurel Ridge Community College is recruiting part‑time adjunct faculty to teach a variety of day, evening, and weekend classes across our Professional Programs, including Administration of Justice, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems Technology, Business Management/Administration, Nursing, Surgical Technology, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Tech, and Medical Records.
Responsibilities- Teach college‑level courses, including distance learning and on‑campus sessions, as scheduled for day, evening, and weekend classes.
- Prepare and deliver course materials, assignments, and assessments in accordance with curriculum standards.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Demonstrate instructional technology proficiency as required.
- Possibly provide a teaching demonstration during the application process.
- Assist with other duties as assigned and support emergency response efforts when required.
- Master’s degree required; 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline or prefix specific to the course.
- Instructors with a Bachelor’s degree, special certification, and/or work experience may qualify for certain developmental or technical courses.
- History of successful teaching or related experience preferred.
- Proficiency in instructional technology a plus.
Compensation is paid per credit hour, ranging from $794.00 to $1,375.50. This part‑time position does not provide health or leave benefits, but may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
Employment DetailsAdjunct faculty appointments are on a course‑by‑course, semester basis. Teaching load is up to 12 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring) or up to 8 credits during Summer sessions, based on enrollment and staffing needs. The appointment does not guarantee continued employment beyond the term.
