Industrial Safety Instructor (Part-Time)
Location:
Roanoke, VA
Hours vary based on course offerings and enrollment. Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on an as‑needed, course‑by‑course, semester basis.
Responsibilities- Deliver classroom instruction on OSHA 10 and OSHA 30, providing a bridge between the two credentials.
- Assist with all instructor‑related duties to support the Workforce Solutions program.
- Develop lesson plans, syllabi, exams, and learning strategies.
- Prepare classroom and lab environments for instruction.
- Respond to emergency declarations and assist the agency or state government if required.
- Current OSHA Authorized Construction and/or General Industry Outreach Trainer Card.
- Three years of construction and/or general industry safety‑related experience.
- Five years of teaching or conducting OSHA Industry Outreach Training Program classes (10 and 30‑hour).
- Associate’s degree in a Career and Technical Education field preferred.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to develop learning strategies, curriculum, and assessments.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds.
Associate’s degree in a Career and Technical Education field preferred. Demonstrated track record of high level of student credential and institutional outcomes with the ability to deliver instruction in the classroom and in lab environments.
Employment InformationThis is a Part‑time adjunct faculty position with a pay band of $35‑$40 per hour.
