Position Overview
Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites a full‑time Librarian to serve a twelve‑month professional faculty appointment at its Glenns campus, with occasional travel to the Warsaw campus. The role reports to the Coordinator of Learning Resources and provides library services to RCC Learning Resource Centers and the Richmond County Public Library (RCPL). Salary: $68,293–$78,000, commensurate with education and experience. Telework options may be available based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with students, staff, and faculty across all campuses to support student success and related initiatives.
- Provide reference and customer service support to college and community library patrons.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining electronic resources.
- Provide research assistance and library instruction.
- Assist in training, scheduling and guiding tutors.
- Serve on college and other committees as requested.
- ALA‑accredited graduate degree in Library Science.
- Experience providing live instruction in library resources and information literacy.
- Experience designing online library instructional materials and providing library reference services.
- Experience using Lib Guides to host online library content.
- Experience providing outreach and collaborating with colleagues to solve problems.
- Knowledge of academic library operations, student learning assessment, and library management systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to provide high‑quality customer service.
- Some library experience.
Includes operation of a state vehicle, no supervisory responsibilities, and required travel. Special assignments may include other duties as assigned and assistance during emergencies.
