Corporate & Professional Training Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
Position OverviewFLSA Exempt, Pay: $35‑78/hr part‑time, contract‑by‑contract. Instructional delivery may be online, on‑campus, or at the corporate client’s site. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deliver innovative corporate and professional training programs tailored to diverse clients.
- Deliver programmatic offerings on client sites as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Travel within a 25‑mile radius of the Roanoke Valley region.
- Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Business Administration, Business Management, Educational & Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, or a related discipline aligned to Corporate & Professional Training.
- Minimum 3 years of industry training, corporate training, or community college teaching experience.
- Demonstrated history of instructional design and delivery, with mastery of adult learning principles.
- Experience motivating participants using experiential learning strategies and achieving metacognitive outcomes.
- Proficiency in using perceptual and emotional forces present in the learning process, and applying theoretical underpinnings to maximize performance and training transfer.
- Strong communication skills with diverse academic, socio‑economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to deliver discussions on client sites, utilize current technology for design, development, and implementation (ADDIE), and engage audiences with dynamic presentation skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction concurrently and apply corporate strategic objectives, change management, and growth mindset principles.
- Commitment to lifelong learning.
- Master’s degree in a related discipline.
- Knowledge of trending developments in related fields and ability to incorporate them into course design and delivery.
- Ability to present innovative ideas and methods for new curricula and programs, and refine existing offerings.
Some travel may be required within a 25‑mile radius of the Roanoke Valley region.
Other InformationNo public supervision of employees, no required travel beyond the stated radius, no state vehicle operation.
