Nursing Faculty

Position Summary

Full‑time, 9‑month Nursing Faculty (Assistant Professor) at Blue Ridge Community College, Weyers Cave (Augusta). Courses are delivered in person with supplemental online components; clinical instruction is conducted at various locations, including day, evening, and weekend sessions. The position is 24‑pay with full state benefits, offering summer and semester breaks to support work‑life balance.

• Deliver didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation instruction across the lifespan.
• Teach content within a concept‑based curriculum.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Facilitate a teaching demonstration as part of the interview process.
• Participate in scholarly engagement, professional development, institutional responsibilities, and community service.
• May be assigned other duties and assist in emergencies.

• Master’s degree in Nursing or current enrollment in an MSN program.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain immediate licensure) without disciplinary action.
• Minimum two years of direct patient‑care experience as an RN.
• Dedication to the community college mission.
• Proficiency with computer software and the ability to learn new educational technology.
• Effective teaching skills and lesson‑plan creation.
• Passion for nursing and teaching.
• Creativity, innovation, and compassion in student engagement.
• Ability to teach a diverse student population.

• Previous teaching experience.
• Recent acute‑care experience in a hospital setting.
• Proficiency with instructional technologies.
