Environmental Science Adjunct (Summer and Fall 2026)

Pay Range: $961–$1,997 per credit hour

Work Schedule:

Hours will vary between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm, with a teaching load of up to 12 credit hours in fall and spring semesters and up to 8 credit hours during summer session.

• Teach Environmental Science courses in person and online.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain grades, assess student progress, and submit required reports.
• Adhere to Germanna Community College and Virginia Community College System policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Maintain current competence in Environmental Science.

Provide quality instruction, meet scheduled classes, submit required records and reports, and uphold the College’s professional ethics statement.

• Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Environmental Science.
• Ability to teach effectively in classroom and online settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Competency with instructional technology.
• Experience or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.

• Prior teaching experience.
• Work experience in the field.
• Experience developing online courses in synchronous and asynchronous environments at a regionally accredited institution.
