Overview
Communication Studies (Speech) Adjunct (Summer and Fall 2026) – Part‑time instructor position.
ResponsibilitiesAdjunct faculty members plan and teach undergraduate courses in speech and general communications to students with diverse academic backgrounds. Duties include development of syllabi, delivery of live and recorded lectures, grading, and providing academic guidance. Faculty may also assist the agency or state government during emergencies as required.
Qualifications- Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in the specific discipline
- Official transcripts required prior to final offer
- Demonstrated use of learning management systems and instructional technology
- Commitment to student engagement, consistent communication, and virtual support mechanisms
- Technology capability to teach remotely (WIFI, computers)
- Experience using technology for teaching
- Ability to teach in multiple modalities, including virtual
- Competency in continuous professional development in virtual education
- Completion of Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 before teaching
- Prior teaching experience
- Work experience in the field
- Experience with online teaching
- Proven experience developing synchronous and asynchronous courses at a regionally accredited institution
- Willingness to learn and use artificial intelligence tools
