Join Southside Virginia Community College in preparing the next generation of business professionals through BUS 224:
Business Statistics. This course introduces methods of probability assessment and statistical inference, with a strong emphasis on business and economic applications. The successful candidate must be committed to SVCC’s mission to provide high-quality education to the Southside Virginia community.
Specific Duties
- Teach data presentation, descriptive statistics, and basic probability concepts.
- Cover discrete and continuous probability distributions, the Central Limit Theorem, and estimation and sampling distributions.
- Instruct students on decision theory, simple linear regression, and hypothesis testing for single samples or populations.
- Guide students in utilizing spreadsheet software as a primary tool for statistical problem-solving.
- Deliver instruction in a hybrid format, ensuring high-quality course materials align with college standards.
- Maintain engagement through the college’s Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) for the online portion of the course.
- Monitor and document class attendance in compliance with college policies, maintaining accurate records and communicating with students and necessary departments as needed to support academic success.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications- Education:
