Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis. as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends.
Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia – principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Teaching disciplines and/or subject areasCRIMINAL JUSTICE
Teaching modalities include online, on-campus, hybrid. Must be able to come to campus for in-person learning and/ or professional development.
Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess expert skills, knowledge, experience and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field
- At least 2 years’ law enforcement work experience
A master’s degree in criminal justice or a master’s degree (in any related field) with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice courses.
Operation of a State Vehicle. No Supervises Employees. No Required Travel. minimal
