** Adjunct Physics Lab Instructor Rolling Pool*

* Key Responsibilities:

**

  • Facilitate hands‑on physics laboratory sessions for undergraduate students
  • Guide students through experimental procedures and data analysis techniques
  • Ensure laboratory safety protocols are followed at alltimes
  • Assist students with equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Evaluate student performance through lab reports and practical assessments
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and coordinate with technical stafffor repairs
  • Provide clear explanations of physics concepts and their practical applications
  • Support student learning through individual and small group instruction
  • Document and report equipment issues or safety concerns promptly

* Required Qualifications:

**
  • Master's degree in Physics or a closely related field
  • Previous teaching or instructional experience in physics laboratories
  • Strong knowledge of undergraduate physics principles and laboratory techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population offaculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences,or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings

* Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Physics or related field
  • Experience with modern physics laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Background in curriculum development or educational assessment
  • Familiarity with learning management systems
  • Previous experience working with students at various skill levels
