The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University invites candidates to apply for the Postdoctoral Research Associate - AI for Cybersecurity position.
Position ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop and expand upon a diversified technical skill set while making a positive contribution to Agentic AI in Cybersecurity. Research projects will involve Machine Learning and Computer Vision. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in AI or Cybersecurity and experience publishing in high-impact journals in these domains. The candidate will work and collaborate with a vast network of scientists and engineers in other universities.
Required Qualifications- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience in programming Python or an equivalent language.
- Experience publishing in IEEE or ACM transactions or journals.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and ensure the highest levels of laboratory safety.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turnaround times.
- Demonstrated experience fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Interest in Agentic AI.
- Interest in Deepfake or Cybersecurity.

Salary Range$50,000-$60,000 per year.
