Teaching Assistant

The Teacher Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Teachers and the Director in creating a nurturing and secure environment for the children, while also contributing to the development of high-quality educational programs. You will provide classroom support and any other duties as assigned that ensure a quality experience for each child we serve.

• Support the implementation of curricula activities and foster a culture of active participation among children.
• Participate in activities, maintain classroom organization, and ensure the availability of necessary materials.
• Engage in regular, informal discussions and provide progress reports to parents to keep them informed.
• Model healthy habits and encourage self-care and good hygiene among children.
• Ensure a smooth transition from home to the child care center on a daily basis.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Develop a personal professional development plan to continuously improve the quality of care and education.
• Operate a 14-passenger van or short bus with training and a valid driver's license.

• At least 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
• A high level of energy and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and basic computer skills, with the ability to express oneself clearly in writing.
• An understanding of child development and growth.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Pass a thorough background check and meet health screening requirements.
• A valid Virginia Driver's License.

$24.00 / hour
