Assistant Preschool Teacher

About This Role

We are seeking a qualified and caring individual to support the Lead Teacher in creating a comprehensive and engaging program for young children, aligning with school policies and best practices in early childhood education.

As a key member of our team, you will assist the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development of each child enrolled in ELNS. The position is Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm during the school year, with potential for additional hours between 8am and 2:30pm in our before/after school programs.

Ability to work in these programs is a plus.

All candidates should have at least a high school diploma, a minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in a preschool setting. They should be able to lift 50 pounds and demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit or otherwise fully participate in activities. Higher education in early childhood education is a plus.

Must enjoy working with children and families and have the patience to work with young children in particular.

• Experience with CPR Certification and Child Development Coursework or Credential would be highly valued.

ELNS is a religiously exempt 1/2 day preschool program (8:45-noon) with optional programs which make it possible for students to extend the day from 8am-3pm. We are NOT a day care but rather a school that is rooted in Christian values and offers a play-based learning environment. It is our goal to help students follow their curiosity and to develop a life-long love of learning.
