CRi is hiring a Trainer to support our Richmond-area programs. The Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and facilitating required training programs for CRi employees.

This position evaluates participant understanding, monitors training effectiveness, maintains accurate training records, and contributes to the continued development and revision of training materials and curricula. The Trainer also maintains subject-matter expertise and required instructor certifications in assigned training areas.

Location: Richmond, VA
Work Arrangement: 100% onsite
Typical Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Work hours may vary based on training schedules and organizational needs.

• Facilitate employee training on topics including Therapeutic Options of Virginia (TOVA), Intellectual Disability Orientation, Medicaid Waiver requirements, CPR, First Aid, Human Rights, and other required programs.
• Present training content clearly and effectively to adult learners with varying levels of experience.
• Evaluate participants’ knowledge, skills, and ability to apply course material.
• Provide coaching, remediation, or additional instruction when necessary.
• Prepare classrooms, presentations, course materials, equipment, examinations, and other training resources.
• Grade assessments and complete required training documentation.
• Maintain accurate attendance, completion, certification, and training records.
• Assist with the development of new training programs and revision of existing curricula.
• Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements.
• Provide additional or specially scheduled training based on operational needs.
• Travel to CRi programs and training locations within the assigned service area.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and professional development throughout the organization.
• Maintain required certifications and complete continuing education related to assigned responsibilities.
• Support the communication and administration of CRi’s training policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• At least two years of instructor-led or stand-up training experience.
• Experience developing and facilitating training for adult learners.
• Excellent public speaking, presentation, demonstration, and classroom-management skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Ability to work onsite in Richmond, Virginia.
• Flexibility to accommodate varying training schedules based on operational needs.
• Ability to travel to CRi program locations as required.

• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses.
• Experience working in human services, healthcare, behavioral health, or a regulated nonprofit environment.
• Current certification or eligibility to become certified to teach TOVA, CPR, and First Aid.
• Knowledge of Medicaid Waiver services, Human Rights requirements, or related regulatory training.
