Lower School Teacher

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Develop and teach curriculum in language arts, mathematics, social studies, and character education based on current national elementary education standards and developmental skills.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction using strategies such as inquiry, group discussion, and discovery to adapt curriculum to student needs.
• Document students’ social-emotional and academic progress through anecdotal notes, work samples, digital portfolios, and report cards.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with families via conferences, report card comments, emails, and phone calls as needed.
• Identify student needs and collaborate with faculty, staff, and support personnel including enrichment teachers, academic services, therapists, and counselors.
• Contribute positively to the school’s culture by adhering to professional standards.
