Virginia Commonwealth University's Department of Music is looking for a part-time adjunct instructor to serve as an Opera Vocal Coach starting January 19, 2027. The department offers various music degrees and has a well-established opera program with a history of awards. The selected candidate will work closely with the Music Director to coach students for fully staged opera productions, attend all musical rehearsals, and may also assist with staging and onstage rehearsals.
A commitment to promoting the opera program and engaging with the community is preferred.
Candidates should have a Master's degree or equivalent experience as a Vocal Coach or Collaborative Pianist, along with a strong background in operatic literature and languages. Experience in preparing opera performances at a professional or university level is essential.
