Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking an Electrical Test Technician (2nd) Shift at the Richmond, VA site, which focuses on critical power distribution for Utilities, Data Centers, Hospitality, and Commercial Institutions.
The pay rate is $27.50 per hour plus a shift differential.
HOURS:
3:30PM – MIDNIGHT.

What you’ll do- Test and/or modify electrical equipment post-production, prior to shipment to customers
- Inspect product functions and monitor test procedures
- Perform system tests, including IR and dielectric testing, and complete written test reports, logs, and records
- Troubleshoot electrical problems in complex systems
- Troubleshoot AC/DC circuitry and printed circuit assemblies to the component level
- Assemble, set up programs and perform functional tests on circuit boards
- Organize work by receiving requests; study wiring diagrams, drawings and specifications; test systems and electrical components; determine causes of problems and requirements to solve them
- Use test equipment including digital meter, current meter, out‑of‑phase transformer, variac transformer, resistive load bank, hi‑pot tester, current clamp, computer and infrared camera
- Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and codes
Required (Basic)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Minimum of one year of experience in electrical test or a related electronic technologies field, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Only candidates within a 50‑mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active Duty Military Service members are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in electronics or electrical engineering technology
- Prior training with electrical equipment and testing procedures; ability to read and understand one‑line drawings, wire lists, and schematics
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Understanding of delta‑wye 3‑phase transformer and resistive load bank technology
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push or pull regularly
