Position: Valve Technician (PRD)

Join Ferguson as a Valve Technician and support our automated valve assembly operations.

Job Information
  • Hourly rate: starts at $25 an hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience.
  • Hours:

    8:00AM – 4:30PM (overtime and some weekend pay as required).
  • Travel: up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.
  • Location:

    multiple Ferguson sites across the U.S.; specific location will be provided.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble all automated valve packages according to standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, organized workspace and observe safety precautions during assembly, testing, storage, and transfer of products.
  • Setup, use, and maintain tools and equipment in the automation center.
  • Interact courteously and professionally with inside and outside sales, management, and warehouse personnel.
  • Interact professionally with customers addressing questions and concerns about automated packages.
  • Troubleshoot automated packages both in-house and in the field, performing necessary repairs.
  • Assist in developing an automated valve sales training program.
  • Perform functional valve testing, record, and store data.
  • Work closely with inspectors to meet customer demands.
Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of experience preferred (not required).
  • Valve and actuator industrial experience highly preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to read and understand customer technical data and schematics.
  • Multi‑tasking ability and ability to meet order deadlines.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated, and able to build relationships.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication, time‑management, and organizational skills.
  • Self‑motivation and ambition to succeed; enthusiastic, courteous, and articulate.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
