Job DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site co‑op position (40 hrs./week), expected to start around August 2026 and continue through Fall 2026 with dates flexible around the school calendar. The role offers competitive hourly pay and overtime eligibility, with potential for multiple rotations and future full‑time employment.
As a co‑op electrical design engineer, you will receive hands‑on training in electrical systems and infrastructure, learning how to design and implement power, lighting, controls, and fire alarm systems for new construction and renovation projects. You will work closely with senior engineers and contribute to detailed layout drawings, one‑line diagrams, and project documentation.
Job Functions- Learn and apply electrical system fundamentals for new constructions and renovations.
- Produce detailed electrical system layouts and equipment detail drawings.
- Create one‑line diagrams and schematics.
- Participate in data collection and site verification activities.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers throughout project development.
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering, preferably sophomore or junior year.
- Strong interest in building systems electrical engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability to work full time in the Columbus office during the co‑op term.
- Willingness to travel locally for job site inspections and field work.
