Field/Service Technician
Are you a hands-on field leader ready to make an impact as a Service Field Manager in the Richmond, VA area? In this role, you’ll oversee repair operations to ensure the department runs efficiently and cost-effectively, while spending time in the field visiting job sites and performing quality audits to ensure work is completed to standard.
You’ll be part of a well-established team with a strong presence in the market. Lunova Group is partnering with a leading company in the elevator industry, known for its broad portfolio of repair and service solutions across commercial and residential environments.
While elevator industry experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with leadership experience in related industries such as construction, HVAC, fire protection, or other technical service environments.
Service Field Manager Responsibilities:Field Work & Technical Support:
- Assists mechanics with jobs. Includes trouble shooting and providing on-the-job training.
- Maintains strong familiarity of company products by attending company training classes and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods. Includes working with regional field trainers.
- Determines what materials need to be ordered for repairs and orders parts.
- Uses accounting reports to review route profitability and call backs. Includes providing feedback, data and reports to management.
- Provides technical input to sales staff on the scope of work and materials needed to bid repair work. Includes calculating labor and material costs.
- Provides feedback to service manager prior to field evaluations and performance ratings.
- Takes part and assists with safety training.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state and local elevator industry code requirements.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and general management skills
- General business knowledge normally acquired though a Bachelor’s degree
- Two or more years of experience managing on a branch departmental level
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- In addition to:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reports, proposals, and presentations
- Effective in presenting information and responding to questions from management and customers.
- Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and make sound decisions.
- Comfort working with and applying technical instructions, including mathematical or diagram-based information, and differing variables.
