About the RoleThe Industrial Hygienist provides corporate and site-level leadership for occupational health and industrial hygiene programs across Arclin's manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling employee exposures to chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards while ensuring compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements.
The Industrial Hygienist serves as the company's subject matter expert for occupational exposure management, industrial hygiene monitoring, health risk assessments, and employee health protection programs. This position partners closely with site EHS teams, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Leadership to support Arclin's commitment to a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace.
What You'll Do- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of industrial hygiene and occupational health programs across Arclin facilities.
- Establish and maintain corporate standards, policies, procedures, and best practices related to industrial hygiene and employee health protection.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for occupational exposure assessment and control strategies.
- Provide leadership and consultation to site EHS professionals and plant leadership regarding occupational health risks and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and oversee industrial hygiene evaluations including:
- Air monitoring and exposure assessments
- Chemical exposure monitoring
- Noise surveys and hearing conservation programs
- Respiratory protection programs
- Ventilation system evaluations
- Indoor air quality assessments
- Heat stress assessments
- Ergonomic evaluations
- Assess employee exposure to chemicals and manufacturing process hazards, including resins, formaldehyde, solvents, dusts, and other substances encountered in chemical manufacturing operations.
- Analyze exposure monitoring data and recommend engineering, administrative, and PPE controls to minimize employee health risks.
- Develop strategies to proactively identify and mitigate occupational health hazards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state occupational health regulations, and applicable industry standards.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and communicate impacts to site leadership and EHS teams.
- Develop and update company policies and procedures to maintain compliance with occupational health regulations.
- Serve as a technical liaison during regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Provide industrial hygiene expertise for capital projects, process modifications, facility expansions, and Management of Change (MOC) activities.
