Job DescriptionAs the technical source of information for the project, you should have thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You will respond to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders; maintain professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers; and may assist with supervision and/or training of Field Engineers. The position includes three progression steps (I, II, Senior) reflecting increasing skill and experience.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrates understanding of the project management plan components (scope management, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety, risk) and change management processes.
- Develops procurement schedule integrated with the project CPM schedule; procures material and equipment; coordinates and reviews submittals for contract compliance.
- Understands prime contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, and allowance items; budgets and controls costs to stay within approved budgets; demonstrates business acumen.
- Maintains as-built contract documents; compiles close-out requirements (operating manuals, warranties, etc.).
- May participate in concrete form design and related equipment selection and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as required.
- Plans, develops and supervises project team members to ensure execution; prepares quantity reporting, meeting minutes, and project logs.
- Prepares and reviews change orders and time extensions; maintains change order log and distributes documents; prepares cost-control budget adjustments.
- Prevents and mitigates potential claims; quantifies and resolves effects of claims in a timely manner.
Job Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards; understanding of interdependencies between functional units.
- Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and 3–4 years of similar construction engineering experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage a team of varied disciplines; ability to supervise/train Field Engineer positions if required.

- Ability to wear PPE (steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist; may stoop, kneel or bend; may use computer and phone to communicate with internal and external parties.
- Must comply with safety standards; occasional climbing of stairs or ladders; frequent use of hands for grasping and handling objects; interact with people during a shift.
- May lift, push or pull objects; may sit, stand or walk for extended periods.
