ResponsibilitiesThe Critical Environments Technician (CET) is responsible for monitoring operations and conditions of equipment within the critical facility while conducting routine inspections of the site. The CET responds and mitigates equipment faults to minimize system downtime. Technicians work in teams to set, level and coordinate the power‑on testing of new racks within the critical facility.
Specific duties include:
- Follow all local and industry safety standards and regulations.
- Attend daily maintenance meetings to discuss operations.
- Administratively update Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Power, bond, level, move and inspect Data Hall rack equipment.
- Perform routine inspection on specified equipment to verify integrity of systems.
- Respond to incidents or instrument failures to prevent or minimize system outages.
- Perform EOP drills on a monthly basis to train for emergency responses.
- Complete all required safety and equipment training, certifications, and licensing.
- Complete risk assessments prior to performing all maintenance evolutions.
- 4+ years of experience in a data center or technical facilities with a high school diploma or GED.
- Due to customer site access requirements, candidates must successfully complete an enhanced background screening process prior to hire.
- Strong troubleshooting background.
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with MS Office programs and the ability to utilize CMMS systems.
- HVAC or Electrical with a journeyman preferred or equivalent.

- The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
- Relocates a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
- Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
- Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
- Possesses good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
- May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
- Recognizes when something is wrong or likely to go wrong without necessarily solving the problem.
- Applies general rules to specific problems to produce coherent answers.
- Combines pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, including finding relationships among seemingly unrelated events.
- Sees details at close range (within a few feet).
- Listens and understands information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
